Monaco Energy Boat 12th We Are Coming!

Messina Energy Boat team is proud to announce that has been admitted to the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge in the Energy Class category for the third year in a row. Furthermore, we are honored to continue representing Central-Southern Italy, as we remain the only University from this area to take part to this international competition!

THE COMPETITION

PADDOCK WORK

The MEB team assembled the boat at the paddock of the Yacht Club de Monaco before proceeding with the technical inspections.

TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS

After the first phase of ramp inspections, Guglielmino 2.0 was taken to the water for a second series of checks, aimed at verifying its full functionality and testing the pilot's skills in emergency situations. We are proud to announce that the boat built by the Messina Energy Boat team has successfully passed all tests and is ready to give its best in this exciting challenge.

OPENING CEREMONY 


PARADE, QUALIFYING LAPS AND SPEED RECORD

One by one, boats will be timed while sailing a distance of 1 kilometre between 2 marks in each direction consecutively. Boat may start after receiving authorisation to go from the Organisation. The winner, all MEBC participants together, will be the boat with the best average time over the 2 consecutive runs recorded by the organiser.

ENDURANCE RACE

Boats will sail for a maximum of 4 hours around a closed course that will be detailed in the Briefing. Boats will start in a mass fleet start: Boats will have to be in water, in YCM Marina, 30 minutes before the start.


TECH TALKS

The MEB Messina Energy Boat team has been selected among the finalists for the prestigious Eco-Sustainability Award, a recognition dedicated to projects that integrate innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. During the Tech Talk, the team had the opportunity to present its life cycle analysis conducted with the MarineShift360 software, highlighting the design choices aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the boat. The speech highlighted the team's commitment to researching sustainable materials, reuse strategies and optimizing energy efficiency, making a concrete contribution to promoting more responsible boating.

SLALOM RACE

Boats will complete a timed run on a slalom course that will be detailed in the Briefing. Boats will start one by one in a running start.

CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

Boats, two by two starting from standstill, will compete on a standard power-boat match-race course.
